My Brute Manager v0.1 Released

A new tool for My Brute has been released:
My Brute Manager

My Brute Manager is an add-on for Firefox that helps you navigate between your brutes if you play with multiple brutes.

It's only version 0.1 right now, as there are few more features I would like to add. If there's a feature you would like, reply to the post with the request and I'll see what I can do. I plan on adding a tool request form to the main site, but I'm too busy working on the actual tools :) So this blog will have to suffice for now.

Enjoy! :)

  1. Hi, I'm currently using version 0.2 and perhaps you could change from buttons to droplist or have both.. I prefer droplists 'coz they are easier to see and more pratical then just buttons without knowing the order...
but it's a great idea anyway.. thanks

  2. is it possible to do something that auto fights for you? for example I have 30 characters, having to go to arena, chose opponent, click start, then back to arena, can something like that be automated? Or anything be done to make this process quicker? thanks

  3. Thanks for the suggestions!
The drop down list I can definitely do. As far as auto-fighting, I'll look into it to see what I can do.

  4. Hello,

Thank you for this nice tool. I want to inform you of a small glitch I noticed today.

I just logged in and noticed that all my brutes except the first one are no longer in the manager. It's possible the update to Firefox (3.09) may have caused this.

  5. Wow, this is great! I'm starting to get so many brutes that it's hard to keep track of them all.

One feature that would be really cool is a summary of all your brutes. There could be a button that brings up a list and shows the name, level, xp to next level (if possible), victories, and whatever other useful info you can add. Being able to sort it by each of those categories would also be very helpful.

Thanks again, I have linked this on all the My Brute message boards I frequent.

  6. If I need to uninstall v0.2 to install 0.3, will i lose my current list of brutes?

  7. Ace Whatever -- There was an error that was erasing the brute list, this error was fixed in version 0.4a

Zachary -- Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. The new configuration page shows all yours brutes and their levels, and there is definately potential to add more functionality to it.

Landyn -- Yes, this being my first Greasemonkey script, I was unaware of some of the side effects of certain changes between versions. The worst of these side-effects was loosing all your brutes you took the time to add to your list. I did come up with a solution though. Head on over to the migration page for a simple way to get to the latest version without loosing all your brutes.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

  8. Using v 4.0

    Very cool program!

My one request is to have a list of all of a brutes pupils, not just those that have been recently added. That would be AWESOME!

  9. Unfortunately, Hurleybird, I don't think I can do that. I've been analyzing dojo data from mybrute for the past few hours and from the data I can extract the following information: How many pupils you have, the styles&colors of each pupil, and the names of the 9 most recent brutes.....but that's what you can already see in your dojo...so that's not very useful.
    Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

  10. I'm guessing increasing the amount of news items also won't work?

  11. Nope that won't work either. I can only use the information that I can extract from the web site. If the web site doesn't already have the information for me to gather, there's no way to create it.

  12. Here's an idea that has some obvious deficiencies but is better than nothing: Have the manager keep the limited list of pupils it gets whenever you enter the dojo and store them as a list. On the main screen, scan the news items and whenever it reaches "new pupil" or "pupil has leveled up" compare those brute's names against the ones on the list, and if they do not exist on the list, add them to the list.

  13. That sounds completely feasible. Essentially it is gathering and preserving information. Thanks for the idea, I'll get cooking on it!
