Long awaited MBM v0.5d

I know a lot of you have been anxiously waiting for it, and here it is, My Brute Manager version 0.5d

Here's this big ticket items:
  • First Quick Fight of each brute erratically not being skipped has been fixed
  • The arena management is way better now, with better functioning cell links, enemy management add/remove links, and hovering your mouse over an opponent can preview their battle victories and bonuses.
  • Quick Fights have been totally redone, and are now much, much faster!
  • Searching for quick fight opponents of varying levels is now an option on the config page and works for enemies and for random opponents
  • Also available on the config page, optional auto-retries for when pages are loaded in the background, namely Quick Fights, or the new arena Bonus Preview
  • And another new option you can turn on if you want: Auto-Navigate to the next brute when the current brute finishes its last quick fight
I also updated the basic instructions on MBM's main page and updated the config page with lots of big-bold-annoying instructions to help users figure out how the config page works.

The config page also expires after one hour, so those users that leave it open, open multiple copies of it, or suffer from Firefox's caching of an old version of their config, won't accidentally get reverted back to old settings.

  3. ouhya, about the low searching level, im lvl 1 but at quick fight its dont find the lvl 0, can u posible make the script will search the lowest even lvl 0?

  7. ok, found sumthing not right, the quick fight seems have a bug, its not find another victim, but i experience it just a twice, and also, its not searching 2 low level, maybe bug, will inform u latter

    I've never seen level 0's before. I should be able to update the script to include them.

    FYI: If it can't find an opp two levels lower, then it will try 1 level lower. If it can't find 1 level lower, than it will try same level. But "its not find another victim" it should always be able to find someone. Seems 0.5d just wasn't quite ready enough, I'm working on finding all the glitches.

  11. aha, icic, nop, yasterday, its works fine, but after the brute maintanace, the searching low and high level mulfunction, maybe they do sumthing at maintanance, its find someone but just only the equal/same lvl

  12. That problem has to do with a lower-level brute not being logged in yet. I'm working right now to add auto-logging on the background brutes to alleviate that problem.

  13. icic, ok, just wanna inform u, im spot a glitch that my char lvl 1 suppost QF's the equal lvl but now its suddenly make search lv14 opponent, and after i refresh it its still add QS's with lvl 14

  14. Yup I found that glitch too, will be fixed soon. FYI refreshing doesn't clear preloaded opponents, only switching between brutes.

  18. Hi there, your script is great, and the new features look promising...

    I want to ask you something but I'm unsure if I'm asking too much...

    maybe you know there is mybrute in other languages, and I actually play on "elbruto.es".. the problem is your script doesn't work out of the box on that version and I need to modify it to make it work there...

    actually the differences are minimal, for example the domain used (all URIs are the same, cellule, fight, etc...), the other big difference is the language which only affects parts where you need to find things like the brute's level (all CSS classes and ids are the same)...

    Maybe you can make it work on both versions? I think it doesn't need a lot of effort since it is almost the same page... and at this time the only change I have needed besides the domain is the part where you check the level...

    The other feature I would like to see is how many exp points you need to level up, I actually added it on my computer, so instead of showing only the percentage, it shows something like:

    Level 9
    86.05% (37/43)

    so that way I know how many points I need for the next level...

    I'm unsure how to check the points needed to level up for a certain level, so I added a table of points needed per level that I found somewhere on the net and it works fine so far..

    As I'm sure you've seen version 0.5xxx has been a little troublesome, but it's coming along. Hopefully v0.5e is good and stable. Once I know it's stable, I'll be porting it over to esbruto.es Unfortunately, I didn't want to get lost chasing down the problems in multiple languages. I even just posted yesterday on El Bruto Manager's page promising that the new features are coming to El Bruto Manager too. I will do it very soon!
    Part of the 0.5xxx version is a piece where you can see the "XP to level up" of your brutes, I didn't make it an xx/yy layout but can easily do that. So soon I will!
    So when I fell confident in 0.5xxx I'll get it over to elbruto.es for you and the the other about 1000 users of El Bruto Manager.

    You have the coffee cup listed at doing 20+ damage, when in reality it only does 8-11 or something (not sure)?

  21. i read your guide for QF's, i want to ask, are u mean that i need to begin use my higher lvl brute to lowest lvl brute? and i load my brute lvl 5 and brute lvl 4, then i load back lvl 5, QF's found a lvl 4 oppenent for my lvl 5, so, do i need to load any brute that lvl 3 to make my lvl 5 brute helper searching the lvl 3 level opponent?

  24. ok. first i find someone lvl12 brute, then add at my list, then open my lvl 14, after that the helper can find the lvl 12 opponent but after the searching like this

    its appear the same lvl opponent, haish...

    Yes, If you want a Level 5 Brute to be able to find Level 3 Opponents, you'll need a Level 3 Brute. The only way MBM can load an arena page is with a brute, and that brute's level controls what level brutes get returned.

    Whenever you switch brutes, the preloaded opponents get wiped and the search starts all over again. I've tried and tried, but can't duplicate your level 1, switch to level 14, still get level 1 opponents, problem. Please tell me the exact steps you are doing to make the problem appear.

    The arena only return brutes the level of the brute who is viewing the arena. I can't search mybrute.com's database, I can only use what comes back in web pages. I you want to find level 2 opponents in the arena, you must be using a level 2 brute.

    I changed the wording of the Quick Fight dialog in version 0.5f to make a little more sense.

    Version 0.5f fixes the manager not showing up for unmanaged brutes.

    Chaitanya & Syaitan -

    Version 0.5f fixes that problem, but I'm glad you were able to see how to do it manually. I make it more obvious like that way back in v0.3. Would you believe the add/delete commands used to be "//" and "///" - people were accidentally adding and deleting brutes left and right :)

    0.5xxx is almost stable....I'm worried about Syaitan's brute switching, wrong level opponents problem.

Oh damn it, i already use my brute, i will check for u next time, now im testing your script with new brute, btw, at the quick fight, if the helper cant not find the lvl that i desire, it appear the opponent name UNDEFIND(5), all my brute got the same, y huh? ic, thats mean, start the lowest brute to highest lvl brute? because u said its need lvl3 to lvl 5 able to search lvl3 opponent? its that better we start the lowest brute to the highest brute? its seems kinda hard for my lvl14 brute because i dont have lvl12 brute. only my enemy, arght!!! :p

  31. Actually swap that, if you play your highest level brutes first and your lowest level brutes last it works better, giving the higher brutes more search option.
    Yup without a 'helper' brute or enemies, there's no way to get opponents of a different level.

    "Undefined" is definitely a script error. I have an idea on how that could happen, I'll hunt it down.

  34. ok... UNDEFINED happen to me mostly, after cant load any opponent, its become always appear the script error and about the QF enemy, first the helper not go to enemy but the random, after that the helper go to the enemy, hop u understand

    Love your script.

    I would like to request a feature, don't now if it was asked before.

    In the arena page, why not list our own bonus and arms on the lower left part of the screen (where the bear is staying).

    Since we deal with so many pupils, we have to go back to the cell just to check what we have.

    That feature would avoid it.

    for the low level enemies. When we have a enemy in our enemylist which is at level 5 and when we are at level 6 or level 7 does if choose it for the quick fight ? If it is not working in this wasy can you put this feature please. You can make it like easy mode and for our brute if we choose easy mode then it can search from our enemy list 2 levels down or for normal mode same level and may be a hard mode 2 levels or more up. By the way brute manager is really cool and me and my friends really appreciate your effort

  39. It's supposed to work that way already....it used to work that way...It took just over an hour for a bug in 0.5g to be found. Thanks for letting me know, I'll get it fixed!

    If you have the config set up to search for enemies before going random and set to search lower-level opponents and you have enemies in your list that match (Example 2 levels-lower, Level 7 brute, Level 5 enemy) It should automatically grab those enemies. I've tested it left and right, and it's working. It may go by fast, but you should see something Like "Found 1 Enemy, Searching for 2 random opponents" Since you have 3 fights but only one enemy. If you have 3 qualifying enemies, it won't go random.

    0.5g is 99% working perfect.. specially Enemy Functions :) its really helping me and, my brute would be sucks without MBM :)

    however i found little prob.. looks like someone already reported, my some bruter r at level 20 @ 15 etc at higher level, i have added any weak enemy at high level lol... i have setted option "search for 2 LVL down enemey" but its looks like function dosent work properly... its grabbing same LVL enemy.. i hope u will fix that soon :) anyway luv ur script and thx again

    Your fights not grabbing enemy problems...Let say you have a Level 15 brute and searching 2 levels down. You have one Level 13 Enemy and one Level 14 enemy, you don't have a helper brute that is level 13 or 14.Here's what'll happen:
    Fight #3 will get loaded with Level 13 Enemy
    Fight #2 will get loaded with Level 14 Enemy
    Fight #1 will go to the arena and get a Random Level 15 Opponent.

    If it's not working that way, Please give me the specific details, because it looks to me like it is working.

    (For Example)
    My Brute is @ LVL 30, and i dont have any enemy for LVL10+ Brute, so i have selecte option search 2 LVL Down... but when i LogIN to 30LVL brute... and its suppose to grab LVL 28 brute but its always fail to grab lower level brutes.. and giving me same LEVEL brute :-)

    Definitely like the tool!

    Only got one (minor) issue with one of my brutes :-(

    When I go to the arena of Flashlight, the graphics of the six opponents are a bit "disorientated".
    Strange thing is it happens only with this particular brute, tested on several workstations, but not with all my other Brutes.

    Not a real issue, you can easily work around it, but you might have a look at it when you have the time (I sure would appreciate it ;-) )

    Is that possible we can see How much XP need To LVL UP and and how much TOTAL XP received on CELL page :) that will save lots of time...

    If you have a Level 30 Brute and want to fight Level 28 Brutes, you either need Level 28 enemies, or a Level 28 brute that has not used up its arena fights for the day. Check out the Quick Fight Guide for more details about how brutes of varying levels are found.

    That's a side effect of my code telling MBM when you level-up wo erase all quick-fight opponents and start all-over again. I'll add "Remember past fights" to prevent duplicated to the v0.6 Wish-List.

    Apostrophes really piss off javascript. I would suggest going to the Config page and changing the Alias of your brute so it doesn't have an apostrophe in it.

    It was probably the opponent's names and not your brutes name that was causing the problem, I'll look into it.

  54. Sorry for being a noob, its my first time ever using firefox. So I installed firefox 3, greasemonkey is enabled, and I pressed the install button. I got the window it says I should get when you said "Installing should like this if you have Greasemonkey running in Firefox properly". Help. I dont know what to do next. I can get to the config page, but I cant find the real thing.

  55. I figure it it safe to assume you clicked "Install" on that pop-up window. If so, just go the cell of any of your brutes.

  57. I'm also having problems with the visuals at the Arena screen, as the graphics of the ARCH and CELL buttons seem to be going the character box. I guess it has to be because of my Brute's 2-digit level. Here's a screnshot: http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p252/Chineseman214/brutescreen.jpg.

  58. I'm getting a problem with My Brute (NOT with your tool) and maybe I'm not the only one.
    The thing is that even when I have 3 remaining fights, the site deals with that enemies as if I've already fought them, and shows the last fight with them instead of making a new one (I know they were the last 3 enemies, but its another day now..)
    You must be thinking: "What do I have to do with this?" haha :P , but you could help us with a feature or something that could work like "Try another Brute", so it wouldn't be trying to fight the same one over and over again.
    I'm not sure if I made my point clear enough, if I didn't, just ask me. :P

  69. Stryker - Whatever happened wasn't part of the patch. Can you recall anything else that you were doing when you enemy list got messed up?

    Chaitanya - I've looked around and tested but haven't been able to find a problem with the config page. What exactly is going on? When you go to the config page are the buttons not showing up (Load/Export/Import)? Or are the buttons showing up, but clicking them doesn't work? Or are the buttons working (taking you to the appropriate page), but then that part of the config isn't working right?

  72. I have some random enemies in my list, and when I fight with one of mine that is lvl 4, the random fight picks a lvl 4 enemy for the 1st fight, then a lvl 2 for the 2nd and another lvl 2 for the 3rd. And thats ok if I'm at the beginning of the lvl 4.
    But when I'm about to lvl up, it would be better if I fought the weaker ones first, then, in case of lvling up after the second fight, I would still fight the same 3 enemies in the end.

  73. Gotcha - That makes a lot of sense. Essentially, once three enemies are pre-loaded, then sort them, lowest level first to better take advantage of low-level opponents while you can.
